El Salvador Crosses in St. Peter’s

March 27th, 2026

Primary schools  have contributed to a display of brightly decorated El Salvador crosses in St. Peter’s Church in Chapel Street,  Congleton. The crosses symbolise resilience , peace and Christian hope in challenging times.

The children have been encouraged to think about what is good about Congleton:  schools, family, groups, local churches and the local landscape.  They were also encouraged to use symbols of hope, peace, love and faith.

Visitors are welcome to visit the church and use the display  as a stimulus for their own thoughts and prayers.

St. Peter’s is open on Saturdays from 4th April  10am – 2pm  and on Sundays  from March 29th 11am – 12noon   (closed Sunday April 12th )  Tuesday 31st March 10am – 1pm,  Good Friday 1pm – 3pm   The display will remain in place until the last week in May.
