When a loved one dies it is quite natural to want to pay your respects and to reflect on all that they have meant during their life.

Usually, your first port of call will be to find a funeral director and they can advise on your options. They will also contact the local church for you if that is what you choose.

In the Church of England we are able to offer a service in church for anyone who recently lived or died in the parish. You can also choose to have a minister conduct a service at the graveside or at a crematorium. There is a fair amount of flexibility around the service and you may choose one or more family members to give the tribute or eulogy, and you may include hymns, poems and other readings.

There is always a reading from the Bible and a message of the Christian hope in life after death. To find out more see: Funerals | The Church of England
